Just some pictures from around town.

We've been hosting some visiting friends recently and WOW has that been a fantastic series of micro-mini vacations!  We really love walking around town, here AND in DC, and just seeing the sights with our visitors alongside.  These days the air is oppressively hot and thick with humidity, and it's brutally uncomfortable to spend long periods outside.  But the insides of all of our favorite museums and restaurants are all brilliantly cooled and well stocked with seating and life-giving water!

So, with that in mind, I'd like to share with you some pictures of what we've been up to recently.

Washington Monument: undergoing earthquake repairs!

Getting rained on at the Capitol.
This is what tropical storm Andrea looked like here in DC.
Lotta rain.  Not much else.

This is what the inside of the dome looks like!

Cleo, the guardian of history.

Every inch of this great room was decorated to the nines!
