Miss Kitty adores fireplace time.

I'm always right there to make sure she stays safe
(and to scootch her back to her little cozy mat
where she belongs: no kitties on the tiles!)

And now I give you these hardly little sunzobitchiz.  Gerbera Daisies.  There are three colors here in one pot.  These red guys have been blooming since December 13th.  The yellow one (top) will take over in about three weeks.
Oh Virginia.  You do not skimp on surprises!
